objectives:
Participants will

should normally have successfully completed a programme leading to the award of
the ILM Level 2 Certificate or Introductory Certificate in Team Leading or the
ILM Level 3 Certificate or Introductory Certificate in First Line Management, or
an equivalent qualification and have experience of working in a role at this
level. Exceptionally, candidates who have no formal qualification in team
leading or first line management, but who have several years experience and have
completed some formal training in the role, may also participate.

The Level
5 Diploma in Management Coaching
and Mentoring aims to give managers the capability to coach others in their
organisation and to be confident to act as a mentor developing people’s
performance in their work roles and supporting them in their career development
and personal growth.
The programme has two
primary objectives:
The qualification is
designed to support and develop Coaching and Mentoring for Managers practice -
it is a condition to the delivery of the programme that candidates are able to
put their skills into practice.
Participants will be
practising managers. They should normally have successfully completed a
programme leading to the award of the ILM Level 3 Certificate or Introductory
Certificate in First Line Management or an ILM Level 4 Diploma or Introductory
Diploma in Management, or an equivalent qualification and have experience of
working in a role at this level. Exceptionally, candidates who have no formal
qualification in management, but who have several years experience and have
completed some formal training in the role, may also participate.
Candidates should normally also possess communication skills equivalent at least
to Key Skill Level 3 in Communication or receive additional support to enable

Diploma in Leadership Mentoring and Executive Coaching
The Level 7 Diploma in Leadership Mentoring and Executive
Coaching aims to give managers, HRD specialists and consultants the capability
to act as a mentor or executive coach in order to develop clients’ leadership
skills and support their career development and personal growth. The programme
has two primary objectives:
The qualification is designed to support and develop the practice of Executive
Coaching and Mentoring in Leadership - it is a condition to the delivery of the
programme that candidates are able to put their skills into practice.
Participants will be
practising managers, HRD professionals or consultants, with experience and/or
training and qualifications in management and leadership and in HRD or related
disciplines. They should normally have successfully completed a programme
leading to the award of the ILM Level 4 Diploma or Introductory Diploma in
Management or an ILM Level 5 Executive Diploma or Introductory Executive Diploma
in Management, or an equivalent qualification, or have experience of working in
a role at this level. Alternatively they may have HRD or consultancy
qualifications, such as the ILM Diploma in Management Coaching and Mentoring.
Exceptionally, candidates who have no formal qualification in management or HRD,
but who have several years experience of working at a senior level in management
of HRD and have completed some formal training in the role, may also
participate.
Candidates
should normally also possess a high level of communication skills equivalent at
least to Key Skill Level 4 in Communication or receive additional support to
enable them to achieve this level in the course of the programme.

BUSINESS START UP
Level 3
Introductory Certificate in Starting Your Business
The Level 3
Introductory Certificate in Starting Your Business is a new qualification
designed to cover the key areas to be considered when starting up a small
business, or a distinct business unit within a larger organisation. The
programme has these primary objectives:

participants’ awareness of the issues involved when starting a small business

to assist
participants in gaining and applying the basic knowledge and skills required
for starting a small business or business unit
Participants will normally be intending to start their own small business, with
a specific business idea in mind. Alternatively, they may be running a discrete
business unit within a larger organisation, which may be a free-standing cost or
profit centre. Whilst there are no formal educational requirements, learners
should have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme.
This is likely to be Level 2 Key Skills Literacy and Level 1 Key Skills Numeracy,
or their equivalent. Where intending learners do not have this level of
literacy and numeracy, Business Works can provide support prior to the start of
the programme
