Disc Cutter

This course is always delivered with the health and safety for small tools programme of 3 hours.

Course Objectives To enable course members to:
bullet Understand the principles of Health and Safety
bullet lUnderstand the principles involved in the selection of discs for different machines and correctly select and mount discs
bullet Understand the hazards arising from the operation of disc cutters
bullet Carry out pre-start checks on disc cutters
bullet Safely operate disc cutters
bullet Achieve a theory and practical assessment in the use of disc cutters
Who is the Course For? All those undertaking tasks involving the use of disc cutters

Facilities/Equipment required: Venue
  • Warm, well lit room with adequate tables and chairs in open U, lighting and power points. Washroom and toilet facilities.
  • Site near the training room for the practical sessions
  • Disc Cutter, discs and material to be cut

Trainee
  • Pens and notebooks
  • Boilersuit, gloves, protective footwear, ear defenders, goggles, dust mask
