Health and Safety for Operatives of Small Plant and Tools

This course is delivered as a part of small tools training programme, whether that is a specific 1 day programme or is a multi-day module.

Course Objectives To enable course members to:
bullet Understand the principles of Health and Safety legislation
bullet Understand the principles of safe site working
bullet Identify health risks occurring in the work situation
bullet Maintain their personal safety
Who is the Course For? All personnel involved in using small plant and tools, including rail track operatives
Duration/Format

half day - 3 hours

Instructor/Trainee Ratio Dependant on restrictions for specific small plant training

  • Includes relevant Group Standards for Network Rail Operatives
Facilities/Equipment required: Venue
  • Warm, well lit room with adequate tables and chairs in open U, lighting and power points. Washroom and toilet facilities.
  • Site near the training room for the risk assessment if possible
